Reading is not
information consumption.

It's a process of encountering existing knowledge, coming to understand the meaning of it as represented by words, through which your own thinking begins to form, yet remains to be developed and examined through rigorous writing.

## Introduction

What is understanding.

It seems not much is understood about what understanding is,

but as evident to Penrose, it seems, at the very least, it is something that requires awareness.

Can machines have awareness? Could it ever be conscious? Or, in other words, could a Turing machine, which is fundamentally following rules and instructions, no matter how complicated as we have made it 'human-like', ever acquire conscious awareness?

Or drag the yellow stick to the right margin.

Writing is not
text generation.

It's a process of rigorous thinking, through which vague ideas, flawed reasoning and gaps in understanding are made apparent and examined in the attempt of coherent articulation. It's how you discover what you think.

Marginalia made functional.

Our philosophy

Machines compute,

arranging patterns of linguistic forms,
in the space of information.

You understand,

through the creative process of reading and writing,
in the territory of meaning.

Our boundary

We refuse to take this creative process away from you, as is tempting in the age of AI.

Nonetheless we take advantage of AI to minimise the frictions around this process, so you can focus on your journey…
